Nutcracker Audition Info 2026 Auditions for Assembly ACT’s 2nd Annual production of The Nutcracker Assembly ACT is holding open auditions for their upcoming production of The Nutcracker.

 

All levels are welcome ages 5 and up. No formal dance experience required!

 

Audition Dates: We have two opportunities for auditions - Saturday, July 11, 2026 10:00 am to 11:30 pm and Tuesday, July 21 from 6:00 pm -7:30 pm.

Location: Assembly Theater - 26 East Avenue, Harrisville, RI Rehearsals will be held on Saturdays and will begin August 29, 2026 with a full cast meeting. Rehearsal times will vary depending on roles but will generally be held between the hours of 11 am and 5 pm (conflicts will be considered before a rehearsal schedule is released). Show will be performed December 4-6, 2026 at The Assembly Theatre.

 

About the Production: The Nutcracker is a 2 act ballet which brings the audience on a fantastic journey through the Land of Sweets. Act 1 invites the viewer into a festive Christmas party. Uncle Drosselmeyer steals the show with his extravagant gifts and magic. He gifts Clara with a handsome Nutcracker but Fritz, the naughty younger brother, breaks the Nutcracker and Drosselmeyer has to repair it. As the party winds down, Clara drifts off to sleep with her precious Nutcracker.

 

As she dreams, her Nutcracker magically comes to life and brings her on a journey where she meets sugar plums, gingerbread, flowers, snowflakes and the Sugar Plum Fairy! Roles Available: Clara - young female Uncle Drosselmeyer - adult male Magical Toys - male and/or female Fritz - young male Prince - older male Sugar Plum Fairy - older female Party parents - 13+ male and female Party children - under 12 male and female Land of Sweets dancers - all ages Guards - all ages

 

What to bring: Ladies - Please wear a black leotard and tights (pink preferred), hair pulled back (bun preferred). Gentlemen - Please wear black pants (i.e., joggers) and a white shirt, hair styled away from your face. Audition will include ballet barre work, center work and progressions. Bring ballet slippers/dance shoes if you have them (you will need them for the performance), if not, barefoot is fine.

It’s time to rock! Assembly ACT is thrilled to announce auditions for Disney’s Camp Rock: The Musical! We’re

looking for talented performers who are ready to sing, dance, act, and have an unforgettable

time on stage.

What to Expect

Prepare approximately 30–60 seconds of a song that best showcases your voice

(musical theatre or pop/rock styles are encouraged).

Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for a dance audition. Some performers may be asked to read scenes from the script.

MITCHIE TORRES (Female-presenting, Teen)

A talented, kind-hearted singer-songwriter who dreams of finding her place at Camp Rock.

Though initially unsure of herself, Mitchie grows into a confident leader who inspires those

around her. Strong singer with warmth and emotional depth.

SHANE GRAY (Male-presenting, Teen)

The lead singer of Connect 3. A popular music star searching for authenticity and inspiration.

Charismatic, confident, and caring beneath his celebrity persona. Strong pop/rock vocalist.

CAITLYN GELLER (Female-presenting, Teen)

Mitchie’s intelligent and loyal best friend. Creative, witty, and supportive, with a passion for

music and technology. Strong actor with a good singing voice.

TESS TYLER (Female-presenting, Teen)

Confident, ambitious, and determined to be the center of attention. Camp Rock’s “queen bee”

who isn’t afraid to compete for the spotlight. Strong singer with excellent stage presence.

PEGGY WARFELD (Female-presenting, Teen)

One of Tess’s friends who slowly finds the confidence to step into the spotlight herself. Sweet,

funny, and eager to prove herself. Strong singer.

ELLA PADOR (Female-presenting, Teen)

Tess’s other friend. Fashionable, energetic, and often caught between following Tess and doing

what’s right. Strong mover and singer.

CONNECT 3 (Male-presenting, Teens)

NATE GRAY – Shane’s brother and fellow band member. Friendly, upbeat, and supportive.

JASON GRAY – The fun-loving, comedic member of the band with great energy and

humor. LUKE WILLIAMS (Male-presenting, Teen)

A talented performer from Camp Star. Confident, charming, and highly competitive. Strong

singer and dancer.

DANA TURNER (Female-presenting, Teen)

Camp Star’s standout female performer. Fierce competitor with exceptional dance ability and

vocal talent.

BROWN CESARIO (Adult, Any Gender)

The enthusiastic owner and director of Camp Rock. Passionate about helping young

performers discover who they are through music.

AXEL TURNER (Adult, Male-presenting)

The flashy owner of Camp Star. Competitive, polished, and determined to make Camp Star the

premier music camp.

Camp Rock Campers

Energetic singers, dancers, musicians, and performers who make up the heart of Camp Rock.

Roles feature featured solos, ensemble singing, dancing, and opportunities for individual

moments.

Camp Star Performers

A polished ensemble of talented singers and dancers representing Camp Star. Strong dancers

and confident performers are encouraged to audition.

Ensemble

The ensemble plays a vital role throughout the production, portraying campers, musicians,

dancers, counselors, and competition participants. There are many featured moments, vocal

opportunities, and chances to showcase individual talents.
